Voyager Insurance appoints Carl Carter as Managing Director

Guildford, UK, July 2017 – Voyager Insurance Services Limited, the market leading and award winning global provider of travel insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Carter as the new Managing Director of Voyager Insurance Services Ltd, effective immediately. Since joining Voyager Insurance in October 2014, Carl has held the position of Main Board Director responsible for Development, Diversification and Distribution and subsequently that of Deputy Managing Director.

Carl CarterJonathan Buttery, who founded Voyager Insurance in 1996 is stepping down as Managing Director but remains on the board. He commented “Carl has been responsible for spearheading our ongoing growth and innovation, as well as product and distribution development activity over the last couple of years. As a result of this success and with a view to maintaining this growth and innovation the Board decided it was a natural progression to appoint him as Managing Director” He added, “I will of course be working very closely with Carl, John Peters, Sales Director, and the Board in supporting Carl in his new extended role, while continuing to be actively involved in strategy, client and underwriter relationships going forward”.

Carter is a highly experienced innovator and recognised leader in the UK and international travel and medical insurance industry. He has worked in the market for 20 years in Managing Director or Sales & Marketing Director positions for brokers, international assistance and claims administrator and an award winning international medical insurance provider and Managing General Underwriter. He sits on the Executive Committee of The Association of Travel Insurance Intermediaries (ATII) having previously been co-founder and long standing Chairman of the Association of International Medical Insurance Providers. He is a Chartered Marketeer and regular international key note speaker at leading industry conferences, and has been a guest lecturer at the Oxford University MBA programme. He has additional experience in numerous related personal lines and affinity classes of insurance and sits on the board of several industry and conference advisory committees.
